I’ve made it a little over halfway through Dan Schwabel’s Me 2.0 and I am quite impressed with it. I knew a little about “personal branding” before I began reading, but I was unaware of the term itself and the immense amount of content that falls within it. While I have owned this blog for a long, long time, I haven’t maximized its potential. I plan to change things.
Schwabel’s book shines in its comprehensive nature. If you have a basic grasp of blogging and have heard about sites like Twitter or LinkedIn, you may find some of the advice rather obvious. However, Schwabel lays out a clear comprehensive strategy throughout his book, and I’m glad to see the obvious things included.
I forgot Technorati existed until I saw it mentioned in the book two days ago. I successfully created a profile on the site and claimed my blog. Now I need to find a niche to fill and interact with others in that community. Technorati is a great tool to increase site traffic when used properly.
I have big plans after reaching the halfway point. I can’t wait to see how the rest of the book will inspire me. Before I start rolling out major updates, I plan to finish reading the book. If all goes according to plan, that should be sometime this weekend.
